About Julie Murray

Julie Murray was an Australian soccer player who appeared in 69 international matches for the Australia women's national association football team. After beginning her international career as a 15 year-old in 1986, Julie was a fixture in the Australian national team for 13 years. During this period, Julie represented Australia 67 times and scored 19 goals.


Highlights of her international career include captaining the Matildas in two World Cups as well as representing her country at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Julie also played professional club football in Denmark and the United States. She was the first Australian female footballer to play professionally overseas with Danish First Division side Fortuna Hjorring in 1990.
